Seeds of Hope Community Garden at Ford Elementary School in Acworth, Georgia

Welcome to the Seeds of Hope Community Garden located at Ford Elementary School in Acworth, Georgia. Established in 2010, our Garden is a place where students, their families, and members of our community work together to grow vegetables, learn about healthy living, and give back to families in need.

This is not just a plot of land for growing
flowers and vegetables, it is a place for growing people.









**Recipes**

Tomato, Basil, Mozzarella Bites

Ingredients:

24 Grape or Cherry Tomatoes
24 Fresh Basil Leaves
24 Small Cubes of Fresh Mozzerella Cheese
Extra Virgin Olive Oil
Balsamic Vinegar
Salt & Pepper to taste
Toothpicks

Directions:
Arrange tomatoes, basil leaves and mozzerella cheese on the tooth pick and set in a shallow dish.  Drizzle Extra Virgin olive oil, balsamic vinegar and salt & pepper to taste.   Let sit for approximately 1 hour before serving.



Fresh Herb Flavored Cream Cheese

1 container of whipped Cream Cheese
a selection of fresh herbs:  Basil, Parsley, Chives, Thyme  (about 2 Tablespoons of each)

Add fresh chopped herbs to cream cheese and mix until well incorporated.  Delicious with whole grain bagels!!


Rosemary Dipping Oil

1 cup Extra Virgin Olive Oil
3 whole cloves garlic
2-3 springs fresh rosemary
salt and pepper to taste

Add ingredients together into a small sauce pan.  On very low heat, simmer for approximately 20-30 minutes.  Allow to cool and then serve with crusty bread. 

Fresh Thyme Vinaigrette

1 Tablespoon Dijon Mustard
1/4 cup of Balsamic Vinegar
Salt & Fresh Ground Pepper
3-4 springs Fresh Thyme
1/2 cup Extra Virgin Olive Oil

In a bowl, add mustard, vinegar, salt, pepper and thyme together.  Mix until blended.   While whisking the ingredients, slowly add Olive Oil in a steady stream until well blended.  Serve over fresh spinach.  Delicious additions include dried cranberries, almonds, Parmeggiano Cheese, and/or manderine oranges.
