Garden Rental Agreement

2012-2013 Seeds of Hope Community Garden Agreement

Welcome to the Garden. We are delighted to share this space with you. In order to have a plot, participants must agree to the following rules:

1. This contract runs from April 1, 2012-March 31, 2013
2. An annual donation of $65.00 for each plot.  Donations are used to pay for the maintenance and improvement of the community garden.
3. Each family/individual is committing to at least 3 workdays per year. The 2012 required workdays will be held on Saturday, April 14th, 2012 and Saturday,  October 6th, 2012 are required. We ask that you participate in at least one other Saturday workday between April- September.  Because of the waitlist for the garden plots, we do take this commitment seriously. A reminder will be sent out before the actual workday.

4. Gardeners agree to begin preparing and planting plots no later than May 1st. If a plot is not prepared or planted by May 1st, the garden plot will be re-assigned and dues will be forfeited.

5. A portion of your garden will be harvested for donation to MUST Ministries. Harvest volunteers will pick any remaining mature vegetables on Mondays. It is recommended that you harvest for your own needs no later that Sunday evening.

6. Tools from the storage bin are available for your use. Please put them up when finished and clean them off. Leave hoses coiled up for safety.

7. We are an organic garden, please follow the recommended organic guidelines provided.

8. Please tend to your garden on a weekly basis. Remove all weeds and any rotting leaves or vegetables. If your plot goes untended for more than a 2 week period,  the garden staff will issue a warning.  Subsequent failure to maintain your garden will result in the loss of gardening privileges.  No refunds will be paid. Staff reserves the right to redistribute bed to another person on waiting list. If you need occasional assistance, please notify the garden staff and a volunteer can tend to your bed on a temporary basis.

9. Please do not harvest from other’s beds unless given permission.

10. Participation in the Community Garden is at your own risk. Ford Elementary School cannot take responsibility for damage due to extreme weather conditions or vandalism.

11. Thank you for gardening with us!

I, the undersigned, agree to the rules and regulations and will strive to be helpful to my fellow gardeners.
